a wet lunchtime

As I went into the kitchen to make some soup for our lunch I thought I saw a squirrel sitting in the hazel trees near the stream.

It was indeed a squirrel having his lunch and he stayed there whilst I fetched my camera and opened the patio door to get a few shots. (Because he has a couple of dead leaves partly obscuring his face he probably thought, as little children do, that I couldn't see him!)
This is a wonder4ful capture in so many ways. immediate fav.

Super shot he is almost in cognito amongst the wood and branches . They have started gathering their food for winter - I do not see one often in my garden but in the last week I have spotted one scurrying along the fence -- never stopping for a photo shoot !! how inconsiderate !!

Lovely shot and you are probably right. My cat used to hide behind a blade of grass and thought she couldn't be seen.

How lovely to have a squirrel in the garden perhaps the first of many visits. Great capture even behind the leaves.
