One of the stops on Jenny’s “homecoming” list was Alto Vineyards. Alto Vineyards was the first vineyard in southern Illinois and makes a semi-sweet red wine that Jenny’s husband likes a lot, too. Particularly during the pandemic when we’ve driven to Massachusetts, we’ve often taken a bottle of Rocko Red to Jenny & Steve. But Alto also makes an excellent port. I have an unopened bottle that needs an occasion to crack open…
