1909 Thomas Flyabout

Another repair job.

Clare’s mom brought several of these die-cast Matchbox cars and trucks for our grandson to play with. Production of this model ceased in 1978, so this is at least 45 years old. I guess it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this one lost its roof or canopy at some point. (Comparing to photos online, I see the two posts on this side where struts would snap in place.) Don’t think the little guy broke it, but one of the axles came off/out. I conferred with Clare’s youngest brother by text on how to repair and got it done (with brute force — hammering — rather than gluing, for example).

Changing this image from its original 4×3 proportions to 3×2 revealed an ON1 anomaly somewhere (either in Crop or Export), but I eventually defeated it … somehow.

Still, however, there remains the Date/Time Taken issue; ON1 completely obliterated the meta data associated with the file.

Two other models captured in photos:
» Corgi Toys London Transport ‘Routemaster’
    » PT Cruiser

Looking back
1 year ago: “Yesterday a lovely walk in the green space; today… [SOOC]”

3 years ago: “Recovered photo [Filler]”
4 years ago: “Oh. Yours is the one we can’t find the key for.”
5 years ago: “Another carnivorous plant”
6 years ago: “Not the Lone Cypress… [Filler]”
7 years ago: “Signs of spring”
8 years ago: “A sign of spring!”

Another job well done! I remember when Toys for Tots fixed broken and unwanted toys like new like this. Now they just go to the land fills.
