"Ochre is the term for both a golden-yellow or light yellow brown color and for a form of earth pigment which produces the color. The pigment can also be used to create a reddish tint known as "red ochre". It is one of the earliest pigments used by mankind, derived from naturally tinted clay containing mineral oxides." - wikipedia.org
to really appreciate the different colours we are embarking on photographing this month, i found this page on wikipedia which I'm using as my reference for the daily colours. if you want to browse, here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_colors:_A-M
these large terra cota pots have been, since last fall, on the front lawn of one of the houses i pass by whenever i go to the big park south of my apartment building. during my walk this afternoon, i passed by the house and took a shot. the owner asked if there's any artistic merit to the pots so i told her about the 365 project. afterwards, she said to come by her house again and i can photograph her flowers and her garden. what a nice lady.
there was a bit of sunlight filtering through white fluffy clouds and you can see the hint of shadows on the pots cast by the branches of the trees nearby.
thank you for your kind views and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
