why? why? why? by summerfield

why? why? why?

this went through my mind as I walked around the dilapidated back extension of this house. old tires litter the ground, some overcome by the weeds. it's a big house, undoubtedly and by the looks of it, would've once stood proud and majestic amidst the vast farmlands of southwestern ontario.

partner was prodding me to get out and explore, but i didn't want to as the thought of someone emerging from the decay and chaos with a shotgun telling me "you're trespassing, didn't you see the sign?" there was a sign: "tresspassers will be shot; if you trespass again, you will be shot again."

so i stayed in the car. actually, i was more afraid of the wild animals jumping at me and attacking me more so than someone with a gun; especially that on the drive, the radio kept repeating this terrible news out in the maritimes where two young boys were killed by a 75-kilogram African python.

oh, no, i stayed in the car whilst taking a photo. thank you very much.
And here I thought you were braver than that. Nice shot though

I can't decide if I like the front better or the back... I love both

You could be reasonably confident that there would be no pythons hiding there but it does look such a wreck - makes a great photo with the overgrown grass edges around the house!

This is a much more sinister shot. So sad to see it going to wrack and ruin.

dilapidated - thank you! I was trying to say my husband was taking a photo of a dilapidated barn but I didn't know how to spell it (spell check suggested decapitated but I knew that wasn't it). But at least you know how to spell and I will add that word to my post as I had intended.

Love, love this - it is so cool You should have gotten out of the car and yelled real loud - just think how cool it would be to get some crazy person with the gun in this shot too! hehe -

If you make enough noise the animals run away from you. If you make too much noise the crazy people run towards you. So make sure you make just enough noise to keep them both happy. Fun story- great shot.

Your fear is because you were outside your comfort zone. Rural areas are mine comfort zone but the city is not. Planning an photo excursion to Toronto Monday and this will be outside my comfort zone will see how well we @k1wi and I do maybe you can join us and hold our hand. Lovely capture and great find.
