what have i learned from the freeman patterson book? a lot and they were invaluable information. i certainly have changed the way i gage anything that i would like to photograph. i am much more aware of shapes and shadows as well as colours and tones and now i also am more picky with
what i shoot.
there are, however, times when a spontaneous subject comes along and you only have a fraction of a second to compose things in your mind. then you capture that subject, break the rules in the process but still come up with an interesting subject.
yesterday morning, i decided that i will not carry my camera in my hand on my walk to the subway. murphy's law punished me when i heard roaring above me, the sound of an airplane and i thought that airplane has to be really low. i looked up and right above me six planes were passing. they were on the way to the island airport for this weekend's air show. fumbled with my purse, took out the camera, turning it on whilst in that process, zoomed in, aimed and presto! six planes looking like nasty mosquitoes! but, whatevs. we take what we can in circumstances like that. and rules of third be damned. all you need do is crop and if it's blurry, etsooi is always an option. that, of course, wasn't in the book. i meant the etsooi!
a new challenge begins tomorrow.
thank you, everyone, for your patience, your visits, your comments and your precious favs over the last several weeks. i appreciate them all.
