Wood engraving by early 20th century printer Gwen Raverat at the small free exhibition on women printmakers at the V&A.
Half day working at home and a quick lentil cake lunch before heading into South Ken for exhibitions. Science Fiction at the Science Museum had its moments and cleverly connected up the 'science' in films and books with real technology - but wasn't as good as I'd expected.
The small display about women printmakers was a nice little exhibition though - featuring Madame de Pompadour, Mary Cassatt and Berthe Morisot as well as 20th century talents like Raverat and Clare Leighton.
Knees felt very swollen and sore after so indulged in a bath later.
3 good things
1. Sunshine today - a sunny evening as I walked home from the tube.
2. My application for a 60+ Oystercard has been approved, should be here in time for my birthday.
3. Window man thinks scaffolding can be up and down in 4-5 working days.
so that's a quarrel , I met a mate at the footie on Saturday , not seen him since pre Covid , he told me about the over 60's free travel in London , I was shocked , I have to wait until 66 for my bus pass !!!
@phil_howcroft I know, can't believe they haven't abolished it yet! I have to wait till 67 for the rest of the 'you've not got long left on this earth, so here's something to cheer you up ' perks....
I instantly recognised the engraving as Ive been to that exhibition - itโs small but very interesting. I think there was one there by Queen Victoria as well
A nice shot of this lovely piece of art! Well done on the 60+ Oystercard. When I got my bus pass a few years ago it gave me a new challenge, and I've visited lots of new places since then!
