Well, here it is- February 28th! You made it through 28 days of black and white and you'd like to show off a little. Go ahead- you deserve it!! Did you put together a globe or calendar view? Post it here. And if you didn't do those, why not choose your favorite shot of the month (yours, not someone else's), post it and tell us why you love it so much.
Thanks Ann for organising this - I wasn't disciplined with the types of black and white photos I posted, but this is the first time I've actually participated in the Flash of Red month. I really enjoyed it.
I failed with the globe but in the end preferred the monthly view. A great month which I have really enjoyed especially seeing everyone else images. Many thanks Ann for organising this again - very much appreciated!!
@pamknowler@kiwinanna trying to think through the process, there is a persistent ad that you might have to deal with first, if you hit the download button, and a pink ad pops up, you have to scroll to the bottom of it and close it, then when it asks if you are sure, click the no, thanks, then click the download again, and it says image saved, in a little message that flashes at the top center of your screen for a moment.
Thanks Ann -- I may have fallen off the wagon, but I always feel "healthier" photographically after having eaten a diet of good b&w vegetables all month.
I chose to keep this as a monthly view, because I arranged for my Flash of Red to be on 15thm smack bang in the middle of the month and I like symmetry!!
I think this is the one I'm proudest of. It's different from the sort of thing I usually take and that's because I find photos without a strong subject very difficult. I've learnt things from this month and really enjoyed the challenge. Many thanks @olivetreeann for organising this and for the thoughtful blogs.
@kiwinanna I'm not sure why but Dixie @pandorasecho is probably on to something. If you still can't get it to work but would really like a globe- feel free to email me 6 of your images and I'll make one for you and send it back to you so you can post it here. Olivetreeann@mail.com (yes, mail, not gmail). It doesn't take long so feel free to send them to me if you'd like. Sorry it's not working properly for you Liana!
Wow- how fun is it to see all these creative finishes to some awesome black and white photos! I'm so glad you all enjoyed it and made it your own. It's so interesting to see how varied the inspirations were this month- a testimony to the creativity on this website! Bravo to all for taking part in whatever capacity and for finishing well!
@olivetreeann Thank you for leading this challenge, it was so good for me. Your book, “Seeing in Black and White”, certainly helped me. Seeing all the posts above shows just how talented so many 365ers really are!
Ann, Thank you for hosting the 2018 flash of red challenge. I learned a lot from this year's challenge. I especially learned about BW composition. This is my favorite shot and shows that I am learning about light in BW images.
@olivetreeann Thank you, Ann for hosting this. It was very challenging, but I am hopeful that I learned a lot in the process. Here is my collage, in film strip style, for the monthly photos.
I finally got this sorted - thank you so much for your helpful advice @pandorasecho - and a special thanks to @olivetreeann for organising such an interesting challenge for the month.
So glad you joined in Lisa, Lou Ann, Christina, Phil, Daisy, Henri, Paul, Marnie, Cristina, Liana and Lin! My apologies for the delayed response. We've been without power for the last 6 days thanks to Hurricane Riley. I'm so glad you enjoyed the art of black and white and the challenge this year. I love hosting it as much as you enjoy the theme. It's a few months away but I'll see you all next February for next year's black and white adventure!
