Flashback Friday - 06 August 2021

August 6th, 2021
PHOTOGRAPHY TIP OF THE WEEK: “You should never think that the camera is the most important thing. You need to simply find a camera that you enjoy using and stick to that. You should just use the camera as a tool. ~ John Rankin Waddell

This challenge is open to everyone. Once you have taken 30 or more photos the flashback link will appear in the box below "View this month" under "Photo Details" on your page. Hopefully, as we go back in time we will see that our photography skills have improved and maybe even have a laugh or two at what we once thought was good enough to post.

About posting, as long as it is Friday somewhere in the world you can post. Or if you would like you can wait until it is Friday where you live, that is fine too.

How does it work?
Click the Flashback View link and it will take you to one of your past photos.

Use the first image it gives you, even if you aren't too fond of it! That way we can see how much you have progressed in your photography skills while on the Project.

To share: Underneath your photo is a curved arrow to the right (➦). Click on the arrow and there will be an "Embed Code". Copy the code then paste it in the comment box below adding any comments if you wish to do that.

Thank you for participating. I hope that looking back stirs fond memories as well as possibly bringing a smile to your face!

Heh, flashed me back to Feb 2012; certainly not my best "water drop" shot, but boy am I glad I'm done with them. Those were some dark days lol

30th of June 2013 — near the beginning of my 365 Project adventure. For a get pushed challenge of “street photography.” Not very inspired or very good photography, (definitely needs straightening) but at least I faced my fear of photographing strangers.

@grizzlysghost looks darn good to me! I’ve really never been able to produce much of worth in that line, so admire those who can. Bravo!

March last year when we were so naive about how long THIS would last. I'm so much better at doing these composites now - one good thing about lockdown- time to learn techniques!!

I remember the place, but not the project. I was on a walk through town with the intention of taking photographs along the way.

Some vignetting on the corners. I like the outcome of this challenge. I did learn something new.

February last year, just before the Covid struck. The owner of the other springer spaniel in this shot is a medical doctor still working in the NE of France, the hardest hit area during the first stages of this pandemic. He is 71 years old and I have not heard from him since. I hope I'll see them both again soon.

NB. Just Googled. he made it, retired in June 2021, aged 72.

September 2017. This was the first year in recent history when Seattle got covered in a giant smoke cloud due to forest fires nearby. I was at a loss on how to shoot in such a condition. The advice most people gave me was to get off my bicycle and go inside. It was such a weird phenomenon at the time. I had no idea this would become a yearly occurrence. Thankfully it rained today and the air is clear.
