Today in the Coronation of King Charles the Third. We had no celebratory plans but we did watch the entire morning on the television and this is where I took all images in this montage (I didn’t have an exceptionally good spot in Westminster Abbey!). It was very impressive, obviously cost millions of pounds which somehow does not feel right in these current time but it has made a lot of people happy and is a distraction from all the bad news at the moment.
I was hoping for the Coronation flypast to pass overhead here as it has in the past. Unfortunately the weather was cloudy with drizzle so not only was the flypast severely diminished in size, all the planes took a different route so no glimpse of anything.
I got on with prepping all the vegetables for tonights meal as I am celebrating the Coronation with a roast chicken and all the trimmings finished up with meringues and soft fruit.
Mum and Ian arrived in very good time at around 4.00pm and enjoyed Victoria sponge cake and then my excellent roast dinner!!
