Day 27 Grand Canyon Rim to Rim Trip: Fall Colors at LeFleurs Bluff SP
Saturday, November 5.
The storm last night had a lot of lightning and heavy wind but no hail or tornadoes in my area… thankful for that. I slept great and got caught up on my sleep again. I had a relatively short ride today to go to LeFleur’s Bluff State Park in Jackson, Ms. It was an uneventful drive and I left Martin Creek State Park in Texas at 9:30 this morning and arrived at LeFleurs Bluff at 3:30 pm. I got set up and then went to hike the Pearl River Trail. There seem to be 3 or 4 different trails in addition to the Pearl River trail - the purple trail, the old river trail, etc. I enjoyed seeing the fall colors along with the gorgeous cypress trees. Sunset was very pretty. I cooked a burger, a baked potato, and some mixed veggies. I think this was the first dinner I really cooked during the entire trip… mostly I just ate the backpacker meals or had something simple like soup. Tonight is my last night in the camper… tomorrow I will be home… excited!
