Day 28 Grand Canyon Rim to Rim Trip: Chevy Truck & T@g Camper

Sunday, November 6.

I woke to light rain overnight and into the morning when I packed up camp. My trip today was 377 miles and the destination was home… I was excited to get home after four weeks of travel. I used the app Waze to navigate and went from I-55 to I-20 and remained on I-20 for the majority of the drive home. I stopped in a Walmart parking lot to brew a 2nd cup of coffee. An older woman in a car drove up and asked me if I needed help… I said I just needed a second cup of coffee. She said she liked my little camper and then she invited me to Sunday School… I told her I still had over 300 miles to go and needed to get back on the road.

After many more highway miles I finally exited I-20. When I got closer to home I saw the changes that construction brings… new roads, more trees cleared, and along the highway near the turn to get home some of the small homes along the road were gone… this was surprising to me. (Ok... I figured out later the houses weren't gone... just a section where there had been lots of trees... the trees were all gone). Home was just around the corner. Then I could see our home and the garage doors were open and Kate was waiting for me in the driveway. Big hugs all around and then camper and truck were moved into the garage and my trip was over.
Great photo and narrative

What an amazing adventure you had. This looks like it could be in a magazine as an ad for that set up. My husband has that same truck except it is black. He should invest in one of those campers. It looks so great together.

I'm glad you made it home safely. I also like your camper. It was made in my childhood town of Sugarcreek Ohio.

Looks almost foggy. I bet it’s wonderful to be home even after such an amazing adventure

What a lovely setting! But for many of us, there’s no place like home!

Cool to see your pickup and camper. I think you are brave to take this trip alone, although I would love to take my camera and do the same thing. Your pictures are the best!

Dorothy said it best "There's no place like home". Quite the rig you've got, rather snazzy
