This was the last picture I took at the Bestwood Steampunk Picnic.
As we were walking out of the venue (Bestwood Winding House at Bestwood Country Park, Nottingham) I saw this lady across the road.
She was directing cars where to park as the small car park was full.
I always tend to smile and say hello as I pass people in the street
As I left the venue I nodded at Sue
Me : "Hi, you allright"
... "Yes Thanks are You"
..."Yes, Excuse me, do you mind if I take your picture"
.."of course you can"
.."ohh thank you "
I walked across the road
.."It will be a head and shoulders, is that OK"
.."Yes :) "
I clicked the camera
"Do you mind looking up a bit so I can see your eyes"
"Yes that's fine"
I clicked again
"Thank you very much, have a look at the back of the camera, it's a good picture"
"Oh yes it si"
"thanks again ...what's your name"
"It's Sue"
"thank you very much Sue"
"My Pleasure"
I shook Sue's hand and ran down the street to catch up with my wife and whippet (Ruby)
I 'auto spot focus' ensuring the litte red dot is on the eye .Post processed in Rawtherapee

@allie912 thank you allison, you might see a few more steampunks this week. I hope I don't overload / post too many. I want to keep my photostream vibrant
With the purple and green and the touch of face paint it looks as if she could be a member of a new-style border morris side that incorporates steampunk into its costume.
Nice angle and pose, Phil. You've brought out her character - she looks like she's a touch mischievous and lots of fun.
I think the lovely smile you have wins them over each time. You must have a nerve to go ask strangers to pose for you. Perhaps, I'm too timid to do that. For me it's another fav.
You're so good at portraits Phil. I love your commentary. Fav. We're still in Sicily, last day tomorrow. Struggling to find anywhere with good Internet connection. Too much wine!
