well, folks, it's been a while since you were treated to a nice cake from the next door patisserie. so here's our treat for tonight: this one is called "louix xiv". every bit of this cake with dark chocolate mousse, pear mousse with black currant cream, set upon a really fine and smooth dark chocolate angel cake. and just like that it's gone! want another slice?

i have never tasted black current cream but am so willing to give it a go. this looks very, very yummy. thank you for the tease. believe i will bake whoppie pies today, keep 3, give the rest away to neighborhood as we do not need to eat them all. malcolm will be very upset with me. he loves them but his belly does not need them! note - i allowed him 2 already!
