the boys were with us this morning. we picked them up to have breakfast and whilst waiting for our order, hammed it up good for the camera. i don't know how it came about but the word 'sidekick' was mentioned while i was busy checking the shots in my camera. all i heard when i paid attention was grandpa saying "so you are his sidekick!" to little darren. darren replied "no, he's my sidekick!" pointing to his big brother derrick. then they started pointing at each other saying "you're my sidekick." i had to tell them "i'm kicking you in the butt, if you don't stop." the little one of course said "no, you kick on the side, because it's sidekick, get it?" smart donkey, my little grandson.
@olivetreeann - you wouldn't believe it, i can't get a decent shot of these two together. this was the best shot and it was 'soft' (i.e., blurry) so i had to process it like crazy on ipiccy then posterize it. i'm starting to be like you. :-) thank you, ann.
@alia_801 - they always have a great time especially when they're with me and partner. we make them decide what food they order and they feel so grown up, then they try to make each other guilty or envious by "ha-ha, i'm having pancakes and you're not". and when they're with their father who now has his own accommodation, they decided that sunday is spent with lola and grandpa and oh, they'd call early and ask if we're coming yet. thank you, alia.
@sunnygreenwood - they're very good boys. they don't understand why they cannot stay with us for a long time, but they don't ask, they just savour every moment. and they're always planning what to do for their next visit. they way they cling to me or to partner is so heartbreaking, but i wouldn't dare show tears. i know it's not good for them. thank you, anne.
