i ventured out into the sun at lunch time today and found a jazz band on the promenade of the building of one of the biggest banks in canada. sadly, i arrived as they played their last number. what caught me somewhat was this funky piano, all bright and cheery in neon colours and flower prints, even its bench(see full view here: http://one-photograph-a-day.blogspot.ca/ ). yet again, i was the only one who took photos of this thing in all angles, heck, i could've flopped down on my back to get even the bottom angle of the piano.
there's an inscripion on the piano: play me, i'm yours! hmmm...i think i might have used that line when i was still a young hartwog!
Hey, I saw this today - was this outside CIBC - Commerce Court? I really need a p&s camera - missing so many good photo ops while I'm downtown but don't want to lug my SLR around at the office!
@lesip - i thought that was the coolest piano i've ever seen in my whole life! thank you, leslie.
@russianblue - yes! wasn't that the coolest, kass? the girl's voice was lovely, too, but i only got to listen to the last song. i was looking at a white nikon 'waterproof' camera at black's today for only $99! i might get it tomorrow, as one of these days, i'm bound to swim with the grandkids. of course i need to have a camera with me even underwater! thank you, kass.
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. i think there's a series of 'play me, i'm yours' piano that's going around. i saw a posting on the discussion board that there's one in paris, too! i think i should go around downtown and see if there's more than one of this piano around here. hope to see 4 altogether for today's shot. i have fives and sixes but i don't have a four!
Oh I'm smiling now! I can see you on that ground and shooting the underside of the piano. And someone walking by and wondering what you are up to!! LOL
Such an interesting piano and I love the POV you settled with!
Are we getting obsessed??? I guess I have to ask myself. Is it ok to be obsessed with the camera?
Haha, I've seen something like this in Salt Lake City, Utah. Did some research and found out it's a contemporary art exhibit this guy's been doing around the world since 2008 to promote a sense of community. Maybe he's in Canada now. There's a link to a newspaper article on my post of the "Play Me I'm Yours" piano if you're interested.
