i had a meeting at lunchtime today so i wasn't able to go out and took photos. when i arrived home, the sky was threatening so i decided i'd try doing water shots. one hundred seventy-five shots later, i got a decent water crown shot, a lot of water spheres suspended in mid fall, some obscene looking thingies, and this, the little mermaid. one item to be ticked off the bucket list for this year.
thank you, folks, for your kind visits and comments. they are much appreciated.
@espyetta - have you tried doing water drops, MB? you would get a lot of obscene shapes. of course, it doesn't help that i have a warped imagination so i get to see all kinds in any shape. hehehe! no, there's no trumpet playing man. it's a mermaid sitting on a rock, with a little monkey on her lap, what that monkey is doing i don't know. :-) thank you, MB.
This fantastic! LOL, and I love love love the humor and the story that goes with it! And the imagination that spotted the mermaid -- which now that I know to look, I can see quite clearly!
@summerfield I have not played one slot machine or gambled at all. Maybe tomorrow. I did see some amazing stuff today though. Now i am in the room, recuperating. Then going to eat some dinner. :))
@espyetta - just don't overdose on 365. hehehe. you got good shots from this trip, i had a glance at your album. i should be doing the same in september. i need some time off; i need to see my dearest friend who lives in san francisco.
Oh WOW! Gorgeous capture ... and yes, that is a genuine crystal mermaid sitting on a rock!! Love the color .... I swear that looks like "crystal." Obscene?!! And you didn't share? O.K. :)
Wow Summerfield. Thats incredible. It truly looks like a woman or a mermaid sitting on a rock in the middle of water, waves crashing at her feet. Stunning capture. So glad you tried this out. As for the impending ball on the head...maybe its a thought bubble? She's deep in thought? Lol
@karenann - hah! if i post the obscene photos, i'd have to give a description or tell a story. heck, it's enough people are going ga-ga over shades of grey, i don't want to get in on the fray lest i'm accused of riding in someone's glory! :-) thank you, KA. so glad you're back.
@losthorizon - no, it's going to crash on her head. too bad i didn't capture it! hahaha! i was white knuckling the camera when i was taking photos tonight. heck, next time, i will enlist partner's help so i can focus properly on the drops. thank you, beau.
@summerfield Yeah it is. That's how her father lets her know its time for dinner. Hahaha. You could get yourself a remote cable. That way you still have full control.
Well done Vicki! Love the colours. I see the mermaid sitting on a rock. You have so much patience..I tried this once but got nowhere. That was with my old camera.
@pamfromcalgary - thank you, pam. the one thing i like with this new camera is the speed. but i doubt if i'm going to abandon my p&s totally. you should make a go of this again.
@myautofocuslife - ooops! sorry. i had the option to use red but i shot this before i gave you the challenge. but remember for you, not a speck of green until the 31st. hehehehe. thank you, livia.
@slang - easy, it wasn't! i sweat like a stevedore when i was doing this. but fortunately, i didn't smell like one. :-) now, how'd you do that food colour thing again? :-) that's my next project.
Missed this one the first time around- looks pretty good to me! I know I couldn't do a water shot with my camera, so when I see others do it, it's pretty cool!
this is good for a first try, isn't it?
Oh, San Francisco - there's some lovely redwoods there with a VERY fun trail right up to the tops of them. I'm so jealous!
@losthorizon - i've ordered wireless shutters from two vendors in amazon but i yet have to receive them. hopefully tomorrow. thanks again, beau.
