you will remember the ivy and the porcelain bowl from last month's "lines" challenge. i decided that the ivy actually goes well with that bowl so now they give my bathroom a pretty splash of green.
the first friend i made in canada was a filipina lady who lived in sweden for 20 years with her family before coming to canada. her husband was the trade commissioner for the diplomatic corps of the old country and my friend worked as a legal secretary. when her u.s. immigrant visa was granted, she made me choose one item from her stuff that i would like to keep and i chose this little bowl. she was quite hesitant to give it to me. her husband said, "you did not give an exception when you told her she can choose, so you're bound to give it to her." she was offering a large crystal bowl which i also liked, but i stuck with the bowl and got it.
we're still friends, however, every time she comes to toronto, she'd asked to see 'her' bowl. and i'd tell her, 'my' bowl is fine, i take good care of it.

Gorgeous bowl ... I can easily see why she wanted to change her mind! But it's in good hands and how gorgeous it looks with the ivy in there. You have such a charming home, summerfield. I feel like I know a part of you during this time. How is partner doing?!!
