it has my birthstone, the ruby and some tiny weeny diamonds. wonder how long before i lose this one? :-)
i never had to wear my bracelets before, but one day, i questioned why i have all these pieces of jewelry and i don't wear them. i don't go to parties that often, maybe once or twice a year, or when partner and i go for a fancy dinner. even then i wear a minimum of jewelry because i don't want to look like a walking jewelry box like a lot of women (and men!) i know or see on the streets. i can't take them with me when i die, and when i do, they might just end with people i don't like or who don't need them. some of my pieces were presents from long ago flames and some i bought. so i decided that i would start enjoying them (and losing them hahaha!) and appreciate what i have.
the funny thing is i used to wear my wrist watch on the left. when i wear bracelets, the watch gets switched to the right. i forgot why, but maybe it has to do with typing on a keyboard. or some other reasons.

this is the same september challenge and the challenge for sunday is same something. so you get to see a bracelet for the next few sundays.
So you got a new one now? Yay! It is pretty! I cannot wear a watch as it bugs me when I type on my laptop....I only wear earrings and my wedding rings most days....every now and then a bracelet. And I have this one super light filigree necklace that doesn't bug me too much...I tend to be more of a no nonsense type girl!
@espyetta - thank you, MB. it's not new, it's an old one that's been in the drawer for so long. when i was a lot younger, i couldn't be without a watch when i leave the house. now, i don't even know where my watch is and i know i have a dozen or so, mostly good ones. but earrings, i must have my stud earrings at all times.
Ah, nice idea, I try to remember to use the nice things now. I used to save the good dishes, towels etc for special occasions until I realized that there will be no more special thing than the every day days with the family I love there.
Beautiful shot of your bracelet! I've never been one for jewellery until I was looking for some sparkly things for a dance concert that's coming up... After buying two hair combs for the show, I now plan to go back to the market stall and gradually buy one of everything else! :) Then, like you, I'll have to find some excuses to wear them!
This is just beautiful, please don't loose it:0) Not a huge jewellery person myself, even take my wedding ring off in the house:0)
Like yourself, though I am trying to wear more pieces though
@pandorasecho - so true, dixie, so true. i grew up in a culture where we give the best to our visitors and i always got in trouble for questioning why that was so. on the flipside, i've been to homes where they have a nice display of china and crystals but they serve the visitors with paper plates (shiver!). so when i started working, every payday i buy imported chocolates for us. i buy those things and food that we only get during Christmas. i used to live paycheque to paycheque because i wanted the best things my pay could buy for me and my siblings and my parents. my mother called me 'spendthrift' and i used to feel guilty. now i call it living my life. if she was alive, she'd be having a stroke seeing me use my porcelain china everyday. or knowing i lost my bracelet and only did an ample effort to try and find it. thank you, dixie.
@claireuk - hahaha! thank you, claire. i'm not a ring person also. my partner gave me a diamond solitaire (he likes to call it an engagement ring) and had a gold band to match it (he likes to call it a wedding band). i couldn't get used to wearing them, so it's somewhere in my bedroom!
It's so interesting how we've come to choose our subjects for this- they're as varied as the folks who are taking the pictures! Nice shot- the background really shows off the bracelet.
