why must something good come to an end? because there are only five saturdays in september for the same sensation challenge. but not to worry, the patisserie is just next door so we can always partake of the goodies they have there.
this is called 'prince noir', and believe me, folks, it's so darn good! it has crispy praline crust, roasted hazelnut coffee cream and chocolate mousse and finished off with a dark chocolate glaze and decorated with a lone hazelnut on top and pieces of dark chocolate barks. i'm not really one for dark chocolate but this is an exception. did i say it is so darn good? i did.
and now, i'm off to work a little bit of overtime and then i'm going around downtown after 7 p.m. there's an event in downtown toronto and nearby areas called "nuit blanche". the event is described in its website as "For one sleepless night, experience the city transformed by artists for Toronto's seventh annual sunset-to-sunrise celebration of contemporary art. One night only. All night long."
this is the first time i'm going to take this event in, and hope i can catch some urban shots. actually at the lobby of our office building there are a few installations and that would be my first stop, obviously.
thank you, ladies and gents, for your visits and kind comments; i shall return the favour when i come back home tonight in one piece :-)
i would not be able to survive with a bakery next door - you must have very strong will power. i would be there every morning as my coffee perked. looks wonderful.
Great photo and description! Mouth watering! Enjoy the downtown event. It was held here a couple of weekends ago but I missed it. The photos others had taken of it looked fabulous!
@claireuk - thank you, claire. i'm saving half for you, or for my lunch today. don't ask me how i could've not eaten all of it when it's too small. maybe because i had a big bar of cadbury. but maybe i didn't eat it all, because i don't really remember if i did. :-) i need some wine to refresh my memory.
@pamfromcalgary - thank you, pam. didn't enjoy it but i did take some street shots and that was all. too bad, i was all set to stay the night. just not my type of exhibits or art.
@myautofocuslife - why, thank you, livia. very kind of you. as i said, i still have half of the cake, but by the time you read this it would all be gone!
That looks decadent- the calendar view is fantastic and I forgot to say on the abstract shot that yes, we do have great minds and it's interesting how sometimes they do think alike!
@jackie8 - thank you, jackie. it is actually a small one-serving cake. but it is so rich, i think i've managed only half of it because i have other sweet stuff in the fridge. must get rid of those. :-)
Love how you have captured the gloss of that chocolate
