i bought this alarm clock for partner. i bought three others before i found this. when this goes off, heck, i think the whole building wakes up, too! :-) the trouble with other alarm clocks is, because they're digital and runs on electricity, they get screwed up when there's a dip in the power. this one runs on a single AA battery, has the irritating tic-toc sound, and the most annoying ringing you'd want to throw it out the window. but it does the job of waking partner up (as long as he sets it at the right time!).
lol I have a little battery operated travel clock I use for my alarm because the electric digital clock sounds like an air-raid siren and whenever it goes off it gives me a heart attack. Nice clock/nice shot!
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. mine's turned off because when it goes, it's like a countdown to a thermonuclear explosion: it doesn't wake me up, it just goes in my subconscious and i'd dream of people in white coats scurrying to hide. i have another one that talks: "it's 7:06 a.m. please wake up!" and then an annoying sound follows. i whack it to stop. it goes off after 5 minutes. "it's 7:11 a.m. please wake up!" another round of annoying sound. one time i whacked it about five times, i think, and it said, after saying the time, "please don't stop me again, you're rude!" hahahaha! that woke me up for real and i was just laughing so hard. it was one of the first digital alarm clocks, made in japan for toyota to give away to clients.
@salza - thank you, sally. good use for a cellphone! good for you.
@eniaral - aww, laraine, must you rub it on us? :-) i think when i retire that's when i will need the alarm clock! i know i would have a lot to do. thank you, laraine.
@sarasdadandmom - thank you, terry. it wakes partner up without any problem. :-)
@catsmeowb - thank you, camille. if i didn't pay for this, i'd have thrown it away, too! :-) but i prefer this alarm clock over the sounds of the other clocks we have here at home.
LOL- i actually find the ticking to be very soothing but malcolm does not. well, obviously. i had one when he moved in. that one somehow broke, although i had it since i was a child. he batted his big brown eyes at me, wandered off without ever giving me a straight answer. he won't lie to me BUT - so that tells me what i need to know. it was a wind up clock and it got over-wound. next one just disappeared. again with the eyes. he says i must have put is some place and just don't know where i put it. well, that happens all the time. NOT THIS TIME! i will buy me another one and use it to clock him up side his head. hate to ruin a new clock, though.
