the streets around us are lit up with Christmas decorations. i've been on the look out for the house with the most lights without leaving the city. i know in the 'burbs they go over the top with their Christmas lights and decors.
there was one Christmas when partner's mother was still alive that we drove around the city of hamilton and found an upscale neighbourhood where there must've been a competition for the highest power bill. the houses were huge and they left no stone unturned to call attention to their displays, which were accompanied by music. some of the houses had a small tin box where they suggested to passersby to give a little donation for such and such charity. the size of this house would just probably be the size of their multiple carports.
