i came here after supper. i think until the fall this is my "me" place. it's peaceful even though the main road is just a few metres away. the city sounds are muffled by the quiet rippling of the water and the night time chatter of crickets and birds. the occasional ducks would flit by.
i sat on the board walk, just taking in the calming scenery. i was hoping one of the swans would come out, but they've retired for the night i'm sure. but i watched the sun as it slowly sank into the horizon of trees and rooftops, as the sky turned from its golden hue to deep blue and the colours reflected on the pond, until the lights came on and their reflections danced on the water. i sat there and enjoyed the moments of quiet and calm.
i sat there until some darn mosquitoes buzzed around my ears and that's when i realized i didn't apply any repellant and that i better leave before i get any more bug bites. goddarnit!
Very nice and peaceful with the reflections on the still water...well, at least until the mosquitoes started buzzing! I can totally see why this would be a place to relax and recharge...
