get pushed #51 - inspired by a movie
@elsbels helen, my get pushed partner this week, has challenged me "to create a photo inspired by an iconic scene from a movie - perhaps a favourite of yours. This doesn't need to be an exact replica but your own interpretation... so let your imagination run wild.."
"somewhere in time" is my most favourite movie in the whole universe. first because it starred christopher reeve and jane seymour, and i'm fascinated with the idea of time travel, and i think the period before the baby boom era is the most romantic of all generations.
in the opening scene of the movie, richard collier, a novice playwright, and friends are in the midst of celebrating the success of his first play, when an elegant old woman walks up to him, places an old pocket watch in his hands, and tells him "come back to me!"
here's a link to some information about this film:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somewhere_in_Time_(film) and if you google "somewhere in time" you will find a number of links; the film even has its fan club, INSITE which stands for "international network of somewhere in time enthusiasts".

it was very difficult to shoot this photo and i got so frustrated because i could not place my hands properly within the frame. since we don't have access to any pocket watch, i had to use my old silver locket as a stand in for the pocket watch, coupled with the fact that i was getting hot from wearing a long-sleeved satin blouse. holy moley, the things we do for 365 and for these challenges!
i had really wanted to do "the graduate" because i thought it was easier. it was the first movie I've ever seen when i was just out of grade school. however, my big legs couldn't be made slimmer by etsooi and i can't find a young man to pose for me, let alone tell him that his photo would be superimposed between my bent big leg. hee-haw!
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are so much appreciated.
@maggiemae - elegant old lady - well, i'm old and i could be a lady. that's two out of three, ain't it? :-) thank you, maggiemae.
@alia_801 - no, the legs still big and fat and short! i tried to goofify it and it ended up looking obscene. tee-hee! thank you, alia.
@salza - thank you, sally. we'll see.
@claireuk - thank you, my friend claire. you are so kind.
@lafish - thank you, laurie.
@steeler - hey, howard, thank you.
@redwax66 - yay! thank you, holly.
@espyetta - MB, between partner and i, we don't have a pocket watch, so i decided the locket would be a good prop. it's always nice to know of someone else who's watched this movie; such kinship we share with holly @redwax66 did you know that at one time i even considered joining INSITE? that's i've watched this movie sooooo many times and would never ever tire of it. thank you, MB, also for the generous fav!
@elsbels - thank you, helen. one of those times that i wish the grands are here so i can use them as props. haha! i'm so wanting to do that shot i just might resort to going to the pride headquarters. but it may not be this week though. i'll tag you when I've got it.
@eniaral - oh, you flatter me so! thank you, laraine.
