harris water treatment plant

this is toronto's little known secret, a beautiful art-deco style infrastructure known as the Harris water treatment plant. it is a crucial piece of infrastructure and an architecturally acclaimed historic building located in the east of the city at the foot of victoria park avenue along the shore of lake nntario in the beaches neighbourhood. with its opulent marble entryways and vast halls filled with pools of water and filtration equipment, it is nicknamed 'the palace of purification'. (information gleaned from wikipedia.org) the slanted thing is the centre is a really long stairway where i took partner's photo of four days ago and yesterday's pic was taken from the lower grounds of the complex.

i posted a 'drive-by' shot of this during my first year http://365project.org/summerfield/365/2011-09-17 taken from the street north of the plant. this is the first time i went into the grounds of the plant and you can bet, i would go there again whenever opportunity arises.

thank you for your kind views and comments; know that they are truly appreciated. i apologize for my lack of commenting but i'm trying my best to catch up with your postings.

It looks a bit like a castle and is very unusual for my idea of Toronto!
