not this photo, but the thinking that went into this shot. how do you make an abstract of a mundanely boring bunch of hangers? you're stumped, right? unless you're a real artist that has an eye for everything, chances are you're not coming up with any good shot, let alone an abstract. or maybe abstract is the way to go. so, how do you get an abstract shot of a hanger or hangers? that's when i thought of yoko ono and those other avant garde artistes! thankfully a toilet bowl is not the subject, just hangers. hangers also remind me of that book and movie (oh, i am so ashamed to admit this but i will blame it on my bffs when i was young) 'the other side of midnight' by sidney sheldon (oh, gawd! i even remember his name!)
i gathered all the plastic hangers in the coat closet and just threw them on top of the table, took a picture and etsooi'd it until this is all that's left. thanks to ribbet for making it all possible. :-D
I think I even know what effects you used! Fun shot. (I used to work in a public library and Sidney Sheldon was a very popular author- especially among the mystery buffs)
