interesting discovery. nikon D3100 has no auto ISO; canon 60D has it.
so, top raw pics were taken with the Canon 60D, on auto ISO. bottom row pic were taken with the Nikon D3100 on ISO 800. both handheld (as per instructions).
with the Canon on auto ISO, the camera chose a higher ISO, 2000 for the 1/8 shutter speed and 6400 for the 1/60 and 1/125. the aperture only changed half a number down.
interesting that with the Nikon, set to ISO 800, went down from f/9 to f/4.8 in the pics with shutter speeds of 1/60 and 1/125, respectively.
clearly, with the high ISO, the top row pics had a lot more noise, as compared to the bottom row pics. i suspect that the bottom right photo, perhaps with a little processing to adjust the darkness, would be the best of all 6, certainly better than the top right with the higher ISO.
