i'm sure you know by now that there are a few of us here on 365 who are dabbling into painting. we call ourselves the artsy-fartsy gang. if you have other outlet for your creativity or wish to explore your inner michaelangelo or da vinci, do join us. i myself didn't know i could paint until i forced myself to paint last october.

why paint? because pandemic has aborted all my ambitions to take great photos 🤣. okay, so it's not the pandemic, i knew from the start my photographic skills are very limited, same as my writing skills, and so now i'm branching into painting. and why not? it's a good activity to pass the time away. i am on my feet for a long time and i time my painting after i've eaten a big meal so i'm not just sitting down atrophying my muscles by being a sloth. i was going to say so as to maintain my figure, but heaven knows i've burned that bridge a long time ago.

my youngest sister who lives back in the old country is the real artist in our family and she gives me feedback on my paintings. i also have a lady at church who is a seasoned painter and i send her a photo of my work for her to critique.

back to the artsy-fartsy gang. last week i passed on a link to an acrylic tutorial i found on youtube which the gang then worked on to give their own interpretation. i painted my own version of the tutorial, adding the branches in the right foreground, which i have photographed in black and white for today's flash of red entry, with the intention of posting on another album the colour version. but then an inspiration struck and nagged at me. instead of altering the original, i painted another one on canvas paper. this is it.
I love this! You are so talented, what fun!

Whoa!!!! This is gorgeous! The blending in the sky is perfect. The birds are awesome. And the addition of the window and cat is so creative. Terrific painting!
And your narrative is so hilarious.
You really deserve a treat! Be kind to the one who did this beautiful painting.

This is so great. I prefer it to the B&W version. it has a happier vibe for me.
You are a fabulous painter - and photographer - and writer. You seem to excel at everything you do.
Well done and A FAV!

love that framing

You know I think you are an excellent writer, photographer and definitely add painter to the list. I love the colouring here, and now that I have seen it think the black and white version looses out without the vibrant sky. Might I say, aces ?

I like the addition of the cat looking out the window- even though I'm not a cat person! The cat makes it a story of longing- to fly like the birds? Chase them? Or just to be outside- I know it was just a whim, but I think it really makes the shot/painting!
