Post your favorite photo of your own project from this past week to share with those that may not otherwise see it. Lets also put WHY or WHAT about it you like.
There were some really great photographs last week. It is fun to see what you like of your posts as it is not always what everyone else chooses.
There are two easy ways to add pictures on to the discussion.
The first is a full size photo: 1) Click on your favorite photo and bring up its page. 2)Look at the right side of your monitor, and go to the word SHARE (it is below tags) 3) go to the box and copy the long address 4) Come back to the discussion, and then paste.
The second is to have a smaller file size so to keep the site from getting overwhelmed. http://365project.org/discuss/general/1323/how-to-adding-an-image-in-a-discussion.
Having had a poor few weeks, mostly going through the motions, it has to be this one.
I really like this building by the canal outside work. I also really like it when different colour lights 'meet'. This shot has both of these elements - the warm artificial light shining through the window contrasting to the cold natural dusk light tonight; The graffiti on the tatty, but serviceable corroding corrugated iron wall.
This one, because i just but my first DSLR this week and this shot is from day 3 when i started shooting in aperture priority mode, and i love how i can play with the dof. And of course the tulips are beautiful :P
This one as it ended up being an awesome consolation shot. I went hoping to get sunrise pics and the fog rolled in so I ended up with this instead and it made the PP so that was great.
Mine was this because A) I LOVE the Maine italian sandwich and B) because it was supposed to be kind of silly but it ended up getting a few faves. (Turns out people just wanted to save it for the recipe. lol!) - I think you should try one.
For once, this is kind of a hard decision.... It's a tie between this:
Because it was just kind of a "blah" idea I had, and I ended up loving the background blur and the one reflection off of an unfocused bead.
And then:
My entry for the Get Pushed 28. I liked it because of the gold tones and the fact that it wasn't incredibly over-exposed like a lot of longer shutter speeds I try to use in daylight. :D
I think that it would have to be this one because A)I'd been lusting (as a commenter put it) for months over the possibility of the shot and B) Because getting it was one of the most embarrassing, silly stories that have happened to me with my photography thus far...that and being found killing a snowman by my neighbor. I'm a mess! This was taken for the light and shade theme.
I like taking eye shots but the color of my eyes are so dark that my pupils are not visible. But here, I was able to get just the right amount of sunlight . I also love the bokeh that was created. The best part is that this photo is SOOC.
this one because I love how the darkness of the trees really make the barn stand out, and that I finally got a good shot of this barn (the location is a heavy traffic area usually, thanks to the weather, there was less traffic than usual - yay!)
This was taken on the 22nd in Maui on top of the Haleakala volcano at sunset but posted this last week when we got home. This is not manipulated at all. I am in love with this shot - probably because I drug a tripod across the ocean from Ohio to HI and hiked in conditions that I would have told you were beyond my ability to see what I saw and get this shot. This is from my first real try at sunsets and using a polarizing filter. I know I have a lot to learn but I am still in love with this shot and will probably have it printed.
As I was driving by these fields (I think they are cranberry fields??), I pulled over to take a picture of the sunset with the fog that was rolling in....and I noticed two deer!! One would stand at the top of the path and keep watch while the other ate, then they would switch. It was just a great moment to be able to sit and relax and watch....and take pictures!
I love this one for a couple of different reasons. The first being, I am addicted to trees. I love everything about them. I especially find the bare branches of winter in silhouette pleasing. Secondly, I recently started manipulating images a bit to come up with photos-as-abstract-art. The look of this one, thanks to the streaks that were in the sky, came out pretty cool looking. These look like monochrome kaleidoscopes to me.
Because snow isn"t so commun in that part of France, only few days and not even every winters. And because on sundays we get up early to feed and take care of horses. and beacause this picture is sooc from the car while we were going to visit the horses. oh and afso because it's "the blue hour" !
This is my favourite, because my partner HATES having his photo taken... I thought he'd hate this one, but actually no - it's now his fb profile pic, so I figure he must be happy with it too.
I saw the reflection before I took the photo, and although the beach was packed with people for a surf carnival, I managed to get this child sitting alone.
It has to be this one - for getting me onto the PP for the first time. But apart from that, I had SO much fun taking shots that evening (even forgetting about the devastation the fire was causing) and got home exhilarated with about 300 shots (most of which I deleted immediately!)
This is a self portrait. It's me sitting at my piano. I like this shot because piano is my life, and it captures it. I am a pianist and I plan on making a career out of it! :)
I like this one from this past week. I had 3 that were excellent I think and made for a tough choice but I liked the lighting/shadow and dark back ground with a touch of color.
Because it is such a crucial part of who I am now and what the focus of my last week has been. It has been hard to make myself go out and take pictures when all I wanted to do was stay in bed and hide from the anniversary we didn't want to be celebrating.
I like the blue of the bird against the blue sky with a touch of autumn colour from the leaves. And it was taken in my garden, didn't have to go looking for him.
My kids on their first day of school - it took a lot to get them to give each other a cuddle AND smile, so although it's not a perfect photograph, I like it best for those reasons
Because this was taken when everyone was happy and healthy and before the children got sick and hospital visits were needed. Been a bit of a stressful week, nice to look at and smile.
Its this one for me as I got to try lightpainting for the first time, I then went round a friends house and with another friend we tried more light painting in her garage with sparklers and torches, I've never laughed so much in my life!
This was taken on the penultimate day of completing the year. Best viewed large, it really sums up my love of the pure, strong colour and pattern in nature.
We happened to stumble upon a BIG birthday party in NYC quite by accident... I didn't even notice the "100" in the windows till I looked at the shot later (at the moment I took it, I was just trying to capture the scene while some nice police officers were ushering me off the stairs)
This one, because It's only the second time I've photographed a person with the intention of editing it for photography purposes and I'd only taken about 5 shots in total, yet it seems to relay the story in his eyes.
Someone I know has a coffee/book shop. They have a small stage and music many nights. Since it is approaching Valentine's Day he did "An Imperfect Tribute To The Goddess" Clint brought his 13 year-old daughter for a song.
This was a filler from earlier in the month, but it still is one of my very favorites. I got off the bus early and walked toward town and the morning light was wonderful on the local train station. I love the lines of the light on the windows and the trains.
This was my favorite for the week, because I had my camera setup on a tripod taking shots of the fog on the water when this kayaker, without warning, emerged out of the fog at the perfect time.
This was a tough week to choose from as there were several shots I really like, but this one just tugs at my heart the most. There are so many emotions it evinces...patience, trust, love, gratitude to name a few!
I took this while visiting a wildlife refuge. Most animals were behind fencing so I couldn't get good photos, but this one turned out well and he/she had such a cute face.
I caught this one with ambient light, which beat any of the artificial lighting techniques that I tried that night. This one also got some good play over on Crystal Head Vodka's Facebook timeline.
I'm surprised to be saying this photo of the chairs turned out to be a surprise favorite in that I thought I was posting it only as a "best I could do on a day entirely spent in the basement of a building, attending a professional conference" but the comments from the 365 community have helped me see a better appreciation for it!
This was a shot I really had in mind even before I went to Malaysia; I was really glad to find a fishing community and be able to wade out to a boat and get this shot on a really sunny day:
This one was a challenge for myself. I am picking an item quickly, and then devising a shot with that item. I find it challenges you to think creatively, quickly lol!

I like the contrast of the soft fabric with the smooth hard glass. The monochrome is not from processing . . .
Because even in -15 below temps, hubby and I can still laugh and embrace our life!

I just liked this one :-)

Not much to pick from this week, but liked the simplicity of this
Love how you can still tell she's smiling =)
I know, I know people don't really love pictures of others babies. But she's mine and she's just so sweet.
I just love the white on white high key, something I had not done before
I haven't done a proper HDR photo that's come out well before, so i'm proud of this one.
This one because patience and luck paid off, he is in focus and looking at me!
Just love the blues and greens in this photo :)

This is my favorite, i cant explain why
this cos it was my first time taking shots in a simulated studio environment

Mine is this shot I got of a titmouse eating a seed.
This is my favourite because I turned a ordinary shot into something more.
Has to be this one. A fantastic reminder of the few days we spent in Marrakech!

This is my favorite pic of the last week because it is very difficult for me to shot the cat.
It seems Retro and Futuristic Steampunk Scifi?
because she's actually awake!
This is my favorite photo because it was a good memory.
