@sudweeks's latest post marks his 16-year anniversary on 365, which makes my 5½ years pale into insignificance. I follow a few people who have been here a long time but a lot of other people I've followed have fallen by the wayside. I'm curious to know when you started your project and who has been here the longest (apart from Ross, of course).
The longest online photo-a-day I know of is NASAs Astronomy Photo of the Day. ( https://apod.nasa.gov/), which started June 16th, 1995. They've been going about a decade longer than me.
ha looks like i'm a new kid on the block - january 2015 - which sounds about the same time as you! so no prizes for me. interesting question to ask, nick ;)
I started here March 2009, but I originally started my photo-a-day on September 6th 2004 on livejournal. After a couple years here, I back-posted all my older photos. So I'm at 16 years doing a photo-a-day, but only 11 years on this site.
200,758 views since 1 July ,2011. I have the ability to run 9 albums but mostly use one and occasionally two only. Nobody wants to look at 9 of my photos EVERY day!
I am coming down home-stretch of my 10th year here. I have no idea how many pictures I've posted or how many people have viewed them but what I do know is that thanks to this site I've done things with my photography I never imagined before (post-processing and exhibiting), got brave enough to join a camera club, and made some incredible friends- even though I've never met some of them!
2010, just for the year posting every day. And now I just pop the odd photo up that I want to remember and see who else is about. We used to occasionally meet up and some of those folk are still on here which is fab to see after 10 years :-)
Started just over 7 years ago in July 2013. This site really changed the way I look at my surroundings and now I can't drive/ride down a road without "composing" an image. I've learned so much from everyone on 365 but there is so much more I want to accomplish . . .
Started September 23, 2010, and was dedicated to posting only images taken that same day. Had a few sporadic years and am now back every day since July 1. (Not being strict about posting images only taken the same day this go around, however!)
Thanks for all the replies everyone. It's amazing to think that some of you have been here for 10 years or more, but so many of you are also still around after a few years.
So far, though, @sudweeks is winning the prize for the longest project. (Interesting fact about the NASA project). It's also amazing to see how many views some people have had. (I've had 42,800-ish myself.) It seems like we've all been bitten by the same bug. Personally, I find it great to share a passion for photography and creativity with like-minded people, even though it's virtually.
The other thing about 365 is you're all so kind and supportive towards each other. No wonder we've stayed so long. @suez1e - you've made a great choice to join this year :)
I have another question for the ace members amongst you... what are your most commonly used tags on your Photo Stats? Mine are "flower" and "b&w". I didn't think I did that much b&w.
@nickspicsnz Another good question and fun stat - my most used tag is also black and white (other than the tag I use to keep up with my photos that have trended or hit the POP page)
1st of January 2016 I was photographing the Moon in the early hours of new years day and though I bet it would be fun to take a picture a day! Been here ever since
March of 2010 is the only recorded photo that I can date, but I lost my external hard drive and had trouble renewing my ACE thru paypal at one point, so data has been lost. First photo was of the date of the bridge that I had to cross every day while going to work.
@olivetreeann agree with all you say, ann - the fabulously friendly and supportive and inspiring environment that is 365 has made me stay. thanks once again are due to ross @scrivna for keeping it all going for us :)

I started in January 2016 with a photo a day for the the first year but couldn't keep it up beyond that. It's made a huge difference to my photography though, I'd never have thought I could learn and be inspired so much, thanks to fellow 365ers :)
Most used tags are sunset, nature and garden.
I started January 2010 and was under the impression 365 also just started up. I guess I was wrong. maybe someone close to Ross might know when 365 actually started and who posted the first picture. I think if would be interesting to know.
@bruni - The site was created January 2009. I'm sure Ross posted the first picture. I started my project in 2004 on livejournal, well before this site was created. After the site was created I also started posting here and uploaded my entire project to the site.
started january 1, 2011. everything i know about photography, i learned here on 365. as i tell people often, 365 is like hotel california: you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave. 🤣

I started here in September of 2013. You fools lured me away from my old point and shoot, and convinced me to get a DSLR and learn how to use it on manual mode.
I started in 2016 and dipped out middle of last year - lost my mojo - but missed the community, so jumped back in a few months ago. Such inspiration and kindness in this community.
I started 365 2/1/2013. Always love to come look at everyone's art. I would love to start on a regular basis again. A great community. Like @summerfield said! :-)
@summerfield - That's the first photo of his project, but the first uploaded to the site is his photo from Nov 9, 2007, then he uploaded each day in backwards order till he got to Dec 15th, 2006. In the page source you can see a photo number, which increments with every new photo uploaded to the site. And as of my posting here, the latest photo posted to the site is #7,822,344
I started in December 2016, first time for me with a cellphone and no pc! No knowledge whatsoever about photography, but loved taking pictures. Leana Niemand said I should definitely look into 365. In the meanwhile I have a camera and a laptop, would not want to miss this site for anything in the world! My happy place :-)
