it's all about me

i'm all about books, the interesting kind, and it doesn't matter whether it is fiction or non-fiction, nor the genre (except horror). somewhere in my shelves, you will find the book "the joy of sex" right next to "the waning of the middle ages" and "plato".

i also love to listen to music, classical, jazz, blues, pop, rock (the older progeny). my CD player above is a five-CD changer and the CD's you will find in them right now are those of the beatles, barbra streisand, michael franks, the world of piano and les miserables. i read notes, learned it in music in grade 5 back in the old country. i taught myself how to play the guitar in high school using my cousin's electric guitar and it was years before i ever had my own folk guitar. because i read notes, i taught myself how to play a few pieces on the piano, both by reading and by ear. when i retire, my plan is to take formal piano lessons.

in the old country i was a member of the toastmasters club. no one ever believes that i am a shy person only because when i'm asked to make a speech, impromptu or otherwise, i can tackle the task with ease. and of course, i'm not afraid to speak my mind. and i love the french language.

i love food and my taste in food is varied, although now my diet is restricted being vegetarian (not vegan though) but i have no qualms partaking of other culture's culinary offerings. and of course, i love chocolate, especially belgian chocolate. have you ever been to bruxelles' downtown plaza? they have a small shop of godiva chocolates, when i was there, where my then beloved would find me whenever i missed home.

i am a very forthright person. i can only deal with drama for so long. i am both aloop and friendly. i am a fiercely loyal friend, but betray that friendship and i won't have two minds letting it go. friendship is like a mirror, once it's broken, you cannot put it back together.

my passions are writing and photography. i may not elevate to the success every writer or photographer strives to be, but i know i love doing them, and i'm told i'm quite decent at both and could be better with the right breaks and given the time.

thank you, my dear friends, for your visits and kind comments; i really appreciate them.
This was fun to read! I also did Toastmasters ...but not for long. I also like to read....no, LIVE to read! Haha how did you get the colorful bokeh? That is really cool!

Great shot to show off who you are! It's funny that many of the best speakers and performers are actually incredibly shy - but learned early on how to deal with it when they have to! Thanks for the insight :)
