about ten years ago, i won a clock in a silent auction we had at the office as a charitable fundraising. i paid a good $50 for it. the bloody thing was heavy but it turned out it was just the case. it must've been a freebie from lexus (the car) because the case had the lexus logo.
in any case, i couldn't figure out how to make it work. what i figured out was i probably had to replace a battery but for the love of me, i couldn't figure out how to open the darn thing.
fast forward to a few weeks ago, when i was in the hunt for something to shoot in macro. i rummaged through my office drawer to look for this clock, because i thought i might as well have some use for it. in desperation, i found out how i could get the actual clock off the heavy two inches case. the case fell and landed on my toes, was i pissed! but the good thing was that i had the clock separated from the case, the latter landing in the waste basket. which i now rue because i could've used the case to photograph the lexus logo. but what's done's done.
so tonight, i was excited because i actually remembered having this little clock and i could open it. i was hoping to see tiny winches and toothed wheels but all i got was this. am i pissed? well, yeah! but I'm pretty sure there's more to it than meets the eye. so, tomorrow, i'm going to look for a special set of screwdrivers and wrenches so i can pry open this thingamabob and we can see what's inside.
buy a set of special screwdrivers just for this? hmmm...i figured i was stupid enough to pay fifty dollars for a clock that won't work surely i can spare a few more dollars for the mini-screwdrivers!
i know, this is kind of blasé shot, but that's my point exactly!
@sarasdadandmom - hmmm... thinking about it now, there's something wrong about that winning. well, it's because it's a silent auction. and it was for a charitable cause. but let me think about this again. thank you, terry.
