centre stage by summerfield

centre stage

our past requires us to move on to the future by going back to our roots in the present!

it's hard to imagine that such a grand and historic place was left to die a slow death. thankfully, mercifully, people of medina had come back to their roots and thought of recapturing their past, perhaps in gratitude to their forebears and surely for their children and their children and the future generations to come.

this is the stage on the third floor of bent's opera house in medina, new york.

thanks to ann @olivetreeann for bringing us here.

@northy - little girl? hmmmm...ah, josephine. she's the daughter of brian, the owner of the meadery who brought us in here.

The B&W forces us to focus on the state of disrepair. The little girl, centerstage, will perhaps get a chance to perform on the refurbished theater as an adult!

I can just imagine it's former splendour. It's good to hear that they want to try to save and restore the opera house. It looks like a wonderful place to visit, despite the sorry state of repair!

I think that the little girl standing stock still on the stage really makes this shot. She is so ambiguous. Ghost? or Spark of life?
