S and D finally tie the knot after nearly 30 years together, their son Owen just behind.
We came back from the pizza place last night and I immediately got under the duvet for a cosy evening of reading, but passed out at 9.30 so tired was I. And then, with all the work stuff, wine and food, I slept like a log but with bizarre dreams that I couldn't remember on waking. So even though I woke at 7 I lay in bed just chilling.
Left for the wedding just before 12, Dave gallantly carrying my shoes in his bag for me to change into. Ceremony at the register office in Enfield was lovely with an entertaining celebrant followed by an afternoon at the Cricketers. Tab behind the bar, nice spread of food, cake, primulas in pots to take home and D and S were thrilled with their special recording of a tune by AC.
Nice to see and talk to S's brother E and family, T and K, Lynne and John who I haven't seen in years, and likewise Liz and Jill. Met D’s stepbrother who apparently lives up the road from us in Walthamstow.
After D and S left, we got an Uber back, what a luxury. R had left us a nice card, having flown back to Ireland this afternoon.
Wonderful story I’m sure you’ll sleep well.
