After yesterday's respite, another murky morning with more early morning rain. Thanks for all the nice comments and faves on Tuesday's image.
Into the office again, umbrella up, though similar to Tuesday, the rain had stopped by the time I got to Green Park to walk through the parks.
Lunch with colleagues in the canteen was nice and the day brightened with sunshine making an appearance. Quite busy in the office with all desks occupied. Left at 6 to go to go and see Kathryn Tickell and the Darkening, meeting Dave there.
Haven't seen this Northumbrian pipe virtuoso for many years and this ensemble was excellent - full of energy, musical inventiveness and quirkiness. They take their inspiration from the wild northern landscape around Hadrian's Wall with traditional and contemporary pieces - including a song based on a Roman inscription with links to Libya and Syria and an achingly sad lament for the felling of the tree at Sycamore Gap. One of the musicians, Stef Connor, was an expert in all things musically ancient and had a collection of lyres. Amy Thatcher accompanied not only with piano accordion but with some brilliant clog dancing.
The evening was made even better by the café serving mulled wine (I had two glasses) and, rather oddly, homemade mince pies.
Sounds a lovely evening with shades of Christmas perhaps. Love your low down shot….a rainy evening in London. I can imagine how the band mourned the lost Sycamore.
Love your sparkling reflective image
