30 Days Wild 2022 Day 15

Today's theme, mapping your local wildlife. Well I did a little tour of the garden mapping its highlights. The little bits of spit (cuckoo spit) all over your lavender eventually turn into these jumping creatures. The larvae hidden in the spit do suck the sap, but generally do little harm as evidenced by our thriving lavender bush.

We called them spit bugs when I was a kid. I hated getting wet when I ran bare legged through the weeds.
