When I came out of my physical therapy appointment a few days ago, there was a landscaping bed that had three wonderful samples of weeds. (Yeah, there is a fourth: it has the small, circular leaves above. But that’s for another time.) I snapped a photo and was determined to identify them. One was an easy ID: dandelion (Taraxacum officinale). The next one I tackled (ahem, in February), was posted a couple days ago, Glechoma hederacea.
My determination for this one is Euphorbia prostrata, aka “Ground Spurge,” “Prostrate Sandmat,” “Prostrate Spurge.” (Not nearly as many common names the previous post!
According to the Missouri Botanical Garden, “Genus name probably honors Euphorbus, physician to the King of Mauretania.”
