i love the movie and i love the music. i've seen the movie so many times the disk broke and i ordered a new one. and the CD? gheez, a long time ago when i ordered it i ordered two just so i would have a back-up.
i remember when my friends and i saw this movie in the early 80's back in the old country. we must've sat at the theatre for 3 showings. in there you can stay and watch it for as long as you want. most of the women brought their instamatics and took pictures of christopher reeve whenever the camera zoomed in on his handsome face.
the idea of time travel, whether in the future or the past, fascinates me. i read a book two years ago about the possibility of time travel (or the non-possibility of it) and i ended up e-mailing the author, a professor at harvard, telling him that if and when he came up with a time travel device that i would volunteer to go. alas, though, he said it wouldn't be in this lifetime.
@salza - sally, the music/soundtrack is so beautiful. in fact i put it on repeat on my walkman and it plays over and over at night, even though of course i don't hear it because i'd be asleep. :-) thank you, sally.
Wow You'll never believe this... I have always said this was Chris Reeves best movie...and one of my all time favs,I saw it with my sister years and years back We both enjoyed it thoroughly I had to wait over twenty odd years before it came back onto satellite TV to see it again.
I loved this movie! I went with my oldest brother's girlfriend and my other brother. I guess. She wanted to "get to know us." I was in Jr. High I think and my brothers were in HS. I am fascinated by time travel too. You know Mary Downing Hahn on here, right? We writes kids books. My students love them. My favorite of them is Time for Andrew and involves time travel. It very much has a similar feel to Somewhere in time....because a boy gets transported to 1910 and hangs with some ancestors but they "meet back up" in modern day in the 1990 s at the end. It is a great book. The kids LOVE it.
