or the canadian falls which is almost a 'u' shape. it is a bit hard to believe that yesterday's post was taken only about twenty minutes after this one. the setting sun's rays are reflected on the left side of the falls and the mist. the weather around the area does change quite drastically.
a few winters ago, the falls became totally frozen. i was there (photography bug hadn't bitten me then yet). all you could see were giant stalactites and stalagmites and the water was only a trickle here and there. in the early nineties, in mid-winter, large blocks of ice flowed down the falls.

Another pretty shot. Do the boats go out in the winter? Just wondering as I think it would surprise me if they did, but then, maybe it would surprise me if they didn't!
