At St Nicolas church in Guildford, a bal put on by Jo's outfit Folk Inspirations. Fabulous music and loads of dancing. A very hot evening - I'd planned to wear my linen trousers but the weather forecast looked cool and rainy so reverted to jeans, but it was actually quite sweltering at the dance. Knees now very sore.
Worked from home earlier, finishing early to get the train to Guildford. Rather perturbingly, the hotel had no record of my Expedia booking. Luckily they had one room left - still not sure what happened.
Only a few minutes' walk to the church for the dance. Lots of familiar faces - K and C teaching the workshop, Muff, Frances, Anna, Alistair, the HMs, Carolyn, Sharon, Helena.
3 good things
1. Among the familiar faces was Portuguese Susana who I haven't seen for ages.
2. Two young women heard the music from outside and were so taken with it, they came in and tried all the dances.
3. A big room and bed to myself in the hotel.
