London 2012 - Knitted Olympics

London Olympics 2012 10 years on - revisiting photos from the time.

For many years this house in Howard Road has done the most amazing front garden knitted displays to commemorate special events like royal weddings and seasonal celebrations. And London 2012 was no exception. There was a whole array of sports on display including these hurdlers, volleyball, swimming and gymnastics. They're still going strong looks like https://twitter.com/HowardRoadHouse?t=IK5IYixiKGtlV0btzSV-mw&s=09.

In my diary for this day, I watched Lizzie Armitstead win silver in the women's cycling road race and Rebecca Adlington win bronze in the women's 400 metre swimming freestyle. At this point, having had a medal-less opening day, a bronze and a silver were v. exciting - little did we know it was going to get so much more exciting.
