My collection of favs contains many images that would make great greeting cards, advertisements or be beautiful additions to a book. But the highest compliment you can give an image is by hanging it. Have you faved an image that you like so much you'd hang it on an empty wall of your home? Here are a few I would give that honor to. Show me yours (maximum three).
@cimes1 I see you have chosen two of your own but is there someone else's photograph that you have fav'ed and love so much you'd hang it on a wall of your home?
@aspada Amy. I'm so sorry. I thought you meant from our photos. I have so many from others that are fabulous! It would be hard to choose but I did see one from this morning that I'll add.
Man, until I started going through my favs I didn't realise how hard it would be to choose just 3 but here they are @pizzaboy & @aikiuser & @pixelchix but I don't think Jenn & Heather check this site out anymore :
@aspada I know. I was struggling with which one to choose. Funny thing- I hadn't faved it, I'd remembered it & had to go back & fave. Excellent thread, thanks for starting it. I'd like a book of your images too by the way! You are very talented and have a marvellous eye.
I would have loved @kimmiesue Kim Suzanne Kelley's penultimate (I think) shot. She disappeared overnight though :-(
It was a pastelly turquoisey softy empty beach shot. Taken early in the morning if I recall. Gutted she and her photos are no longer here.
I have quite a few favs and it is hard to pick just three, when I love them all or I would not have faved them. I chose these three which probably reflects the mood I am in today. @friesianfury
@bradsworld See now? It's one thing to like a piece of art and another to live with it and see it every day. That's exactly what I was getting at :) Robin posted one on Facebook the other day that I would definitely hang as well!
@janmaki@aspada Thanks, Jani, I can't believe you'd hang me on your wall! :D But seriously, I am finding flickr so frustrating with the extremeley delayed viewing for me and have been thinking about starting here again. Hope you both will still be around if I do!
@shutterbugger - That's perfectly fine :) Again... liking something and hanging it can be two completely different things. It takes something special to be able to live with it and like to see it all the time.
And I know Martha @wrighty probably gets tired of hearing this every time one of these threads comes around, but I really love this shot she took in Thailand last year.
There are many favs that I would happily hang in my home and office. But that's the problem - there are so many amazing photos by such talented photographers here that it is hard to choose 3 right now. For me it would depend upon the decor/design of the room and select accordingly. I guess I'm whimping out?
@michaelelliott You are definitely whimping out :) Choose your bedroom and imagine having to wake up and go to sleep with it. That's one. Then choose one to hang in your office... that's two. Now put one in your kitchen or family room... and that's three! Come on Michael ;-)
@aspada On No! I would definitely hang some of yours...I was actually surprised at how many of your shots were in my favs! I thought you didn't want us to put your here.
@shutterbugger lol Jenn... you're sweet. I wasn't plugging my work and I'm actually surprised that people have mentioned my stuff when there is so much talent out there on 365. It's just really interesting to see what people think is worthy of hanging on their walls. :))
Ok Amy - I chose my favorite, not just because the photographer is my daughter, and not just because the girls are my grandchildren, but because the photo rocks! Kyla really captured the essence of the relationship between these two!
Ok, this was incredibly difficult! Believe me when I say, I have so many more favorites I could see hanging on my wall. These are just a selection of some of my favs! @judithg @teeboy @mackena
Great thread, Amy! I really had to think a bit - there are things that I would hang in an office, and things I would hang in our house ... and they're a bit different.
@beachradish I love your choices and if I may confess... This one by you was in my original choice of ten pieces that I would hang in my home and be very happy with...
@aspada Cool! I'll give you a really good deal! ;) Seriously, thank you - I'm honored given that I always look forward to your uploads ... you have such a cool range of subject and perspective.
Ok since you put it that way ... I will have to come back to this later after work when I have time to review. But for sure it would include this one by you!
@grizzlysghost because I have a purple bathroom that this would look fabulous in... @mimipearl Clssy at its finest @agavegirl13 she may be only 13, but she is good..
@brumbe I so appreciated it. I'm working on getting it printed and mounted...I may have just found a place to print it for me....planning on 30x30...we'll see!
@shadesofgrey@aspada@brumbe@pwallis I am getting a print of this framed at the moment. Always loved this photo so took the opportunity to purchase from our friend and artist, Paula, earlier this year.
What an awesome topic @aspada Amy! I've been here for a while and have collected an amazing set of fav's from such talented people! This was sooooo hard! I love that you made me go back and look at all of these! And, are you saying I can't pick any of yours?
Here is my three
I love the colors on this one by @bugik
Looking at this everyday would be so relaxing! Love this by @phychographer
This one by @wardie I could stare at all day!
I need to do this 100 more times just to fit in all my favorite shots!
i'd like to hang most of my 380+ favs but taking the colour scheme of my walls and my skimpy furniture into consideration, these would be my three with about 10 back-ups: @patticake
@leigh7900@shutterbugger@exposure4u Wow - thanks folks!! My daughter had the gatehouse printed for me & I love seeing it on the wall! I really must print up the trees! Great thread @aspada - most of your album would be very welcome on my wall. When I get home I'll have a good think and find three pics..... There are some real beauties here!
@aspada Amy, what a fantastic idea for a discussion thread! Thanks so much for thinking of this. . .and who knows. . maybe we'll all trade and have some lovely prints for our homes!
@humphreyhippo wow thank you so much I am way honoured to think that someone would consider one of my photos good enough to put on their wall.....you have definitely made my day my friend :)
@webfoot@aspada : You guys are sooo sweet. Being called an artist by you very talented photographers really moved me. Funnily enough I didn't even now Ansel Adams when I took and processed that Stonehenge photo. But I might hang it on my wall in the new appartment :).
Really difficult to limit it to three - and anyway, I wouldn't only have three on my walls, I've been known to cover a wall with images I like! Too many people's work I love to limit to just three. Interestingly I found I was going for abstract or lots of 3-D details too.
@janmaki - but really difficult to choose just one
@calm@jannaellen I'm having such a proud moment in NY!! I'm a bit limited IT wise but I'll definitely be joining in with this thread properly when I get home! Rachel printing up my photo has been a real revelation - you shod go for it! I'm going to do some more....
@danig@mastermek@peterdegraaff Awww youse guys!!! I MISS YOU!! As far as what I would hang on my wall, the talent I've followed on this site is endless and I would be hard pressed to choose just one - however, I've been checking my mail every day with much anticipation for my long-awaited copy of Hambone by @mej2011 - but I remain in a state of disappointment, as it never arrives.....;-)
What a cool discussion! I realised that my favs seem to have less landscapes and animals in them than anyone elses ;) Here are the three that I would hang on my walls.
I only added my most recent hang worthy (okay that sounds weird) last night because I was half asleep. I will now add 3 others that are definitely my faves. @musicguy1982 @janmaki @pwallis
@shezzyj THANK YOU!!! I'm really flattered that you mentioned it... Such a great honor!
P.S.
Actually, I do have this one hanging on the wall, it made Top 10 in one local competition, and I've got a really nice print as a gift :)
Great thread and so hard to pick-my choices would change by the day!!! Also technophobe me doesn't know how to post multiple images so I'm going to send 3 replies!!!
Amy thanks for initiating a very stimulating idea to consider and discuss. While I like many different types of photographs from many different very talented people here on 365, hanging on a wall takes liking a photo to a different level. But in addtion to feeling good about looking at something all the time, for me it must fit into the decor/design of the room too.
That said, I did promise you 3 that I would choose, though there are others I would also be very happy with hanging in my home and office (I could probably find at least one from just about all the folks I regularly chat with and follow. In any case here are 3 for now ....
@aspada - So many of your photos I would love to hang in different rooms to play to certain styles. Here bedroom:
@michaelelliott - you were true to your word Michael and posted. Thank you. They say that if you could enjoy seeing a piece of art first thing in your day (waking up) and last thing at night (before going to sleep) it is a piece of art that can resist in time (as far as your liking it is concerned). I know we all look at decor but the thought that you could like something of my making in your bedroom is a huge compliment. So a double thank you! :)
I have known for some time about Maisel's workshops... you should do it! They say he is an amazing teacher. I have been a fan of his for a long time. He is varied in his work but I love everything he does. I see he is this week's artist for the theme... I will try to enter. You?
You missed a good game... Spain - Italy. There was some fancy footwork!
@aspada -- besides being a goregous scene, it communicates personally to me a peaceful and comfy way of life :-)
Definitely will try maisel challenge. I know where he took some of his city shots but he of course gets POV access we can't and would love to do his workshop, perhaps later in year, got to pay for two fall semesters of college first :)

Everything and anything made by Michael Elliott @michaelelliott (I think he's most fav-ed in my selection):
Secondly, a romantic one, by @nlswango Nikki, I love romance and these colours.
