I'm always curious to know where that great scenery is. Not looking for the GPS co-ords of your home, or anything stalker-ish:) So, I'll start : I live in Cape Town, South Africa. My photos will be from all over the country.
@eleanor Hi Eleanor, I live in Milton Keynes in England. The majority of my photos will be from home, but every so often I post one from South Africa as I had a wonderful holiday there in 2015
@eleanor France calling, on the Med coast close to the Spanish border. I have family in England and Norway, and will be going to the Lofoten islands in March, can't wait.
@eleanor Hi Eleanor, and Sarah @pixiemac. I'm in Changchun, North East China and that makes it difficult to get inspiration to take photos. This must be one of the most boring and unphotogenic cities around–but I love it all the same. This year will be different, it will...
@eleanor - I live near Canberra in Australia. My photos are normally taken around where we live or I will occasionally post photos from our travels within and outside Australia.
@eleanor Hello! Well, I'm Spanish but I live in Liverpool. I'm spending some time off at home now. I live between countries and I love the fact that my photos can show the contrast between these two wonderful cultures.
We say that we live in the suburbs of Stockdale, Ontario, Canada (which is wide spot in the road). Mobility is an issue at the moment so most of my pics are from the property around our house which is an old school house built in 1867.
I live in the beautiful Dumfries and Galloway in SW Scotland. I feel quite privileged to be living here, despite the constant rain - it's what makes it so green.
I'm not very mobile, so many of my pics are from my garden, though I get out and about when I can, so the surrounding countryside figures too.
I live in Salisbury, south of England. Very lucky to have ancient landscapes and old buildings near by, I take my camera on all my travels near and far. @eleanor
I'm from Brussels, Belgium. European capital. But you can find almost as many photos from my short trips around Western-Europe. And my statistics tell me that 25% of my photos are made for an artisan family bakery, so you'll see lots of Belgian cuisine on my project!
What a wonderful idea! I had actually thought about asking those I follow to give the same information, some of whom are doing just that here!
I am from Southeastern Alabama, USA.
@eleanor , Hi..
i live in West Yorkshire, UK. the bulk of my images will originate very close to home but i do venture off now and again on occasional days out.
I'm from Arkansas, USA and most of my shots are from within 100 miles of my hometown, Ozark - 35 miles east of the Oklahoma border and 100 miles south of the Missouri border - foothills of the Ozark Mountains. (not mountains like you all have unfortunately!)
I'm in Lakeland Florida, which is near central Florida about 45 minutes from Disney World. So you'll see mostly local area, a few flowers and hopefully some street portraits/photography.
@eleanor What a fantasically cosmopolitan site! I am from the flatlands of Cambrigeshire and most of my photos are taken in and around the village I live in. Great idea for a discussion thread!
@eleanor Living in Sweden and most of my shots are from here with the occasional one from other places. Was VERY busy last year so didn't post much, but have promised myself to try again this year @padlock I may be off to London this month.... :-)
@eleanor I live in the French Alps though I'm British. I travel a lot for business and pleasure and have photo workshops coming up in Norway - Aurora - in Feb and Jersey for the coast in April. Plus US on biz in May and then I stop for a bit....
I live in a small town in Europe (Romania). I don't have impressive landscapes here although I am one hundred kilometers away from the Carpathian mountains.
Most of my pictures will be from my small town and surroundings.
A great thread with such a range of areas represented. I live in Chicago during the academic year and Beaver Island - an island in the middle of Lake Michigan - for summers.
I'm a student in Liverpool, England and split my time between there and my parents' house in Oxfordshire. It's always nice to see people from all over the world :)
I'm in Texas - right near the Austin area. I don't always get the opportunity to post the gorgeous scenery like you guys have in some other places, but it's always fun when I get chances to go into the city and then there's bluebonnet season!
I live in Wellingborough in the East Midlands of the UK. About 40 minutes drive from Sarah @pixiemac and also Rosie @rosiekind. We often meet up which is great . Last year I also visited Taffy @taffy in Chicago and also Louise and Ken @weezilou in Nova Scotia. 365 has been wonderful in bringing together people from all over the world. Such a friendly site and so interesting to see every day from all over the world.
I also live in in Liverpool UK, spend quite a lot of time in the English Lake District and Scotland so will hopefully post photos from all these places this year (maybe others too!)
@pamknowler Yes... 365 is a great way to meet people. Back in 2010/2011 we had a number of get togethers in Cape Town. And may I put it out there that if you ever visit South Africa I'd love to meet! Yup, 365ers...that's any of you :)
Since 1960 I live in Canada and before 5 years in Chicago. originally from Hamburg, Germany. I joined 365 in 2010, missed some time due to illness, but never left. my hometown is Keswick, Ontario an hour drive north of Toronto an Lake Simcoe.
Wonderful to see where everyone is! I'm from Christchurch, New Zealand, so most photos are taken around here but also from travels both in NZ and overseas
@eleanor Hi Eleanor, and everyone! I am from a small village in rural South Lanarkshire, which is about 20 miles south of Glasgow in Scotland. 365 has given me such a wonderful peek into so many corners of the globe. Love it!
@mothermalarky Lovely area. I live in the Lake District, north west of England @eleanor . Often holiday in Dumfries and Galloway and it is not too far.
@eleanor Hi Eleanor, I live in East Yorkshire. I am lucky to have the coast 20 minutes away, but also the Yorkshire Wolds, the North Yorkshire moors and some great towns nearby too. York is 35 minutes from me. My photos will be generally on my dog walks, but I spend every day at work in a seaside town so when I get chance there are photos from the seaside too.
Southern California in the US here, about halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. We actually have a fair number of 365ers in the area and thanks to the 365 community have been able to get together to socialize and go on group shoots together. A great group of folks!
Oooh this is fun! I'm originally from Washington, DC but currently living in Oslo, Norway. My pictures (2 so far), I imagine, will mostly be city structure stuff plus some nature (duh it's Norway). Also I will probably take pictures of the many unplanned trips I'm sure I'll take this year. Cheers everyone.
I want to follow all these interesting people from so many corners of the world :) It's amazing! I live in Warrnambool which is at the end of the Great Ocean Road in s/w Victoria, Australia. if anyone is travelling along there I would love to meet up with you :)
I lived in Russia, then in the US, then in Germany, and now back to Michigan again. @juliedduncan@jackies365 - we should have a Michigan's 365 meet-up sometimes. Maybe @taffy will want to join in as well - as a half-year-Michigander :)
I'm in Dublin, Ireland... my local area isn't particularly picturesque but this year I really want to go further afield a lot more to take pics, after all it's not like we're short on scenery over here in general!
@eleanor I live in Rutland UK which is England's smallest county it also contains Rutland Water which bizarrely is Europe's largest man made lake! It is very good for photography with a variety of scenery and architecture.
I live in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and travel back and forth to Calgary, Alberta. We have a vacation every year in Mexico and love to travel elsewhere as well.
Melbourne, Australia. Love seeing beautiful photos from all around the globe and hearing stories from all walks of life. Makes the world feel just a bit smaller :)
@eleanor What a marvelous idea to run by everyone as the year gets underway! I believe you and I began at this time in 2010 as did several others here. At the present, I'll be home on the coast of Southern California, where I'm less inspired to photograph this region, though the 365 members out here are a wonderful group as rton @straightshooten mentioned. When I first saw his photos, they were from Sweden & I thought he lived there. Imagine my surprise when, a month later, there were our local mountains in his picture, and we found we don't live but about 10 miles apart! In the summer we go to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia where my photography finds new life! We've got 365 friends there, as well, such as Nova @Novab , an hour north, & many 365 friends who've come to visit: vikki & Bill @summerfield, Anita and John @aglennc, Pam Knowler @pamknowler & several who are no longer actively involved. Sharing the photography of one's region is a terrific bonding experience!
We're in Kingston upon Hull, UK - there will be some great photo opportunities up here as part of the UK City of Culture festival this year - see www.hull2017.co.uk. Anyone within striking distance of Hull should come and take a look, and those who aren't can follow via our project :)
@eleanor I live in Northland, New Zealand. Its a beautiful country with loads of native bush and beaches and as its summer here a lot of my photos are outside in the sun.
Hi Eleanor -- This is a great idea! I've often wondered where some of our 365ers are from. I am a lifelong southern Californian. My husband and I are originally from Whittier, 20 minutes SE of Los Angeles. We have lived in Escondido, about 35 to 40 minutes north of San Diego since 2003 and in San Diego for 33 years before that. Escondido is NOT a photogenic community, and I find myself very often stymied and with no inspiration for local photography.. However, I do love 365 and seeing so many "around the world photos" and meeting so many great people, both through the project and in person that I won't quit! (I miss the photo opportunities of San Diego!) Enjoy photoshoots now and then with other southern California locals and, when traveling, have had great visits and shoots with 365ers in Oregon, Idaho, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, and Alberta, Canada!!
I'm new, just joined. So hello everyone from Maryland (north of Baltimore) - I saw members from Pennsylvania and from outside Washington, DC. I'm in the middle!
Gotta represent the eastern coast of the US! I'm in southern Maine, near Portland, our states largest city! I also travel to Boston quite a bit! And the other New England states on occasion!
Wow - very interesting to see where everyone is from and what a geographical collection we have here! I'm in the U.S. - Pennsylvania to be exact, and to be more exact, about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh. Most of my pictures are from my area as I don't get to travel too often and am so jealous of those of you that do so you can get some diverse photos from different areas!
So interesting to see all this....Just relocating to Salem, Oregon. Our new apartment should be ready to move in mid-January. Last year we were in Fort Lauderdale, FL...
Greetings from the eastern side of Pennsylvania in a region known as "The Poconos"! Most of my nature shots are from my "own backyard" so to speak. Every now and then I'm able to travel, but for the most part I find lots of interesting and beautiful things to photograph all within a 10 mile radius from my home.
Currently, we live in the Southern US, in North Carolina, but we have lived all over the the US. One of the things I love about 365 is seeing all the unusual things from around the world that everyone photographs.
I am currently living in France, in the Limousin area. I am a Canadian from Cape Breton and I lived in Rotterdam the Netherlands for 17 years before moving to France in September.
I'm in small town on the central coast of California. Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach, Shell Beach, Avila Beach Grover Beach. It's called the 5 Cities. I work 12 miles away in the City of San Luis Obispo.
@eleanor One of the things that I love about 365 is seeing so many beautiful pics from all over the world! My photos are mostly from north Alabama, USA.
@elatedpixie Thanks for listing the 5 Cities - I've always wondered why there's an exit on Hay 101 called the 5 Cities Drive. Now I know where it gets it's name.
I live in Southern California north of Los Angeles. My usual type of photo is landscape but recently I've been experimenting with other things.
@fpmtngal there's used to be a debate as to the 5th city, whether it was Avila or Halcyon. Halcyon is barely bigger than a street or two so it's Avila beach!
I'm originally from SoCal, Los Angeles.
Hey, Nice idea! I'm from Scotland but currently live in France, suburbs of Paris, so both places show up regularly in my 365 posts. I also love to travel, so lots of other places feature on an ad-hoc basis!
I live about 15 miles North West of Pittsburgh. Most of my photos seem to be from around the yard and our neighborhood. I'm never without my camera so when we travel I am always ready to shoot that interesting sight.
I live in Sheffield, UK. I mainly take photos around the local area, the Peak District which is practically on my doorstep and anywhere else my travels take me!
Wow, great thread...
I am from just outside High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England, UK, Europe, Earth, etc...
It's great to see where everyone is from.
@juliedduncan@taffy@jackies365
Taffy - sure, looks like we are all spread around, but if suddenly someone feels inspired to make a get-together happen, I would be glad to meet!
I live near Holywood, Northern Ireland and take photos either there or Belfast where I spend most of my days. I like to go on daytrips in Ireland and holidays to London (& sometimes further afield) where I take photos.
Nowhere as exotic as the rest of you. I live in Turlock, California, USA. Home to dairy cows, walnuts, almonds, and 49rs Colin Kapernick. It's 2 hours to the beach (Santa Cruz or San Francisco), or 2 hours to Yosemite and the sierras. Good location in California actually. Good idea to have this thread going! I have been inspired by so many of you and have enjoyed meetups when I can.
@ribbet9 I say I'm from OR/CA because I live on the border between Crescent City, CA and Brookings, OR and have lived in Ashland before here, but here 27 years. Redwood coast area
I'm surrounded by beautiful countryside, canals, and rivers so when I get out and about there will be much of that. This is my 2nd year of 265 - but I didn't get past May last year so trying to keep up EVERY day this year.
Hello everyone! I just joined yesterday. I'm originally from Cleveland, Ohio but now reside in a small just outside of Toledo, Ohio. This is a great thread, such diverse locations!
I'm from Brisbane Australia. Most of my pics are from around Brisbane with others from our Oz and world travels.
Completed 2014 and 2015 but was very sporadic in 2016. I am trying to drum up the enthusiasm to complete 2017. @joannakate So you have a nursery hey? That explains a lot of your expert commentary on your shots - especially the broms.
I am in Cyprus now and in Saudi Arabia for 13 years before that. I am originally from all over the US (such is the life of an oil field wife). We also have a home in West Virginia, US. My photos are a mixed bag with a heavy emphasis on macro.
I live on the Sunshine Coast of south eastern Queensland in Australia. Beautiful one day perfect the next...or so an old tourism advertising slogan went. This is my second year...and when I look at all these names I realise I need make more effort to find the wonderful diversity that is the 365 family.
Hi folks, I have recently joined. I am from the Orkney Islands, off the north coast of Scotland, between the Atlanic Ocean and the North Sea. Enjoying the wide range of pics that appear on here.
Both myself and my wife, @carole_sandford live in Lincolnshire, UK, around 9 miles north of Lincoln. I work down in the South West of the UK, near Bath, during the week, so my photographs may well be of that area but weekend shots of home.
Hi, I'm a Canadian living in Roseburg, Oregon. It would be great if we could create some kind of graph, or pie chart to really see what parts of the world everyone is from. Or one of those maps with the flags on in that come up in FB occasionally. I love that we come from so many different places, cultures and time zones.
@ingrid2101 I just started to follow Craig Taylor, and commented that I had just noticed that someone else was from the Orkney Islands. Must have been you, lol, and you are already following him. lol.
@deliad Hi Delia. We visited in Rotorura in 2005. It was beautiful.
I am from Granbury, Texas (closed larger towns are Ft. Worth, Tx./Dallas, Tx.) We love to travel, but haven't traveled much in the last couple of years due to illness. Hope to start again soon.
It is wonderful to see where everyone is from. I love this site because I get to see so many parts of the world through your eyes.

I love all the pictures with snow...down here the only thing we get is sweat (humidity sucks!)
I am from just outside High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England, UK, Europe, Earth, etc...

Taffy - sure, looks like we are all spread around, but if suddenly someone feels inspired to make a get-together happen, I would be glad to meet!
@jackies365 That's right! I remember - so, now if I am correct, I know @dridsdale, @juliedduncan, @jackies365 and me are in MI, with Taffy as a part-time Michigander :)
A quick photo search also revealed that @special4k lives in Michigan, so does @keyt427 - maybe they would be interested too.
:)

I'm from Scotland but currently live in Abu Dhabi (slight difference in climate!)
Really love the broad spectrum of nationalities on here.
